September 16-24, 2017
This special custom tour takes place in the heart of the bead capital of the world! You will spend two dreamy days exploring Prague with our personal tour guide and experiencing the flavor of one of the world’s true heritage sites including a tour of the Jewish quarter, Prague Castle & St. Vitus Cathedral, and a riverboat dinner cruise of the beautiful Vltava River at night for breathtaking photo ops of Prague. Your third day in Prague is a bonus day to choose your favorite activity – spend more time shopping or exploring the city on your own, work on your bead project, or visit the National Museum, the Pilsner Urquell Brewery home of the world’s first blond lager, or Terezin Children’s WWII Concentration Camp.
Leaving behind metropolitan Prague, we journey through the scenic countryside to Sychrov Castle, Czech Republic’s very own Downton Abbey – the exiled home of a French aristocratic family following the French Revolution. Then we time warp from the 18th century and travel via cable car to a “spaceship” on top of a mountain. Jested Tower, built by the Soviets in 1966 as a combination hotel and telecommunications tower, was a favorite vacation spot for the Soviet elite. On a clear day you will have the unique experience of being able to see three countries, Poland, Germany & the Czech Republic in one breathtaking panorama. Coming down from the clouds we land in Liberec, our home for the next three nights.
Let the glass adventure begin! Over the next three days we will visit a bead factory, blown glass Christmas ornament factory, glass museum and school of glass, escorted by Jon Kubricht, bead importer and owner of DaBeads. We will see artisans making our treasured beads first hand and even have the chance to participate in a glass blowing demonstration. Shopping anyone? With Jon’s special connections, you will have the chance to shop directly with the companies from which he buys.
Not a beader? Want to bring your spouse or best friend? No problem. Bead classes are included in the prices, so all our non-beaders are offered a discounted rate. We have optional suggested activities such as an evening at the Prague Ballet, Black Light Theater, Marionettes, or jazz clubs, casinos…this country has something for everyone.
Land Only Tour Cost: $1899 per person double occupancy; $2199 single occupancy. Non-beader discount – $200.
