Group Air on Delta: Departs July 18 at 5:55 p.m. to JFK, arrives Dublin July 19 at 9:40 a.m.; Departs Dublin on July 25 at 11:25 a.m. to JFK and arrives Columbus at 5:01 p.m. Full flight details provide to registered guests.
Here is our updated itinerary:
July 18: Depart Columbus for New York on Delta, then take an overnight flight to Ireland. Dinner will be served shortly after take-off. A light breakfast is served before landing.
July 19: Morning arrival at Dublin Airport. We’ll meet our driver and then take a panoramic tour of the capital city. One of our first stops will be the Guinness Storehouse for a tour, and a pint at the Gravity Bar, with views of Dublin, the Irish see and the Dublin Mountains. Lunch is on your own at one of the eateries in the Storehouse. We continue our tour, then check into our central hotel, The Temple Bar Hotel in the heart of the entertainment district. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore.
July 20: We depart Dublin and cruise across the heart of Ireland, with a stop at Kilbeggan Whiskey, Ireland’s oldest continuously operating distillery, to have a tour and sample. Onward to a stop at a farm near Galway to see a sheepdog demonstration, and then to Galway for hotel check-in. There will be free time for shopping and dining in the vibrant center of town. Our hotel just outside central Galway is the Galway Bay Hotel, which overlooks the sea and a walking promenade. (B)
July 21: Today we explore the lovely and rugged Connemara Peninsula. Our stops will include Connemara Marble, then Celtic Crystal, followed by an iconic photo stop at Kylemore Abbey. Return to Galway, where our evening is free to enjoy the pubs and shops. Overnight in Galway. (B)
July 22: Morning departure from Galway. We make our way to the the moonscape of The Burren, then the awe-inspiring and majestic Cliffs of Moher, rising 700 feet above the Atlantic. We cross the Shannon River on the Tarbet Ferry and head to Killarney for a stay in the heart of town, and near the entrance to Killarney National Park, at McSweeney Arms Hotel. (B)
July 23: A delightful day takes us along the Ring of Kerry, one of the world’s most beautiful drives with many stops wonderful along the way. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free in Killarney. (B) (Golfers play today after the Ring of Kerry at Killorglin!)
July 24: Leaving Killarney we travel to Blarney, where we visit Blarney Woollen Mills for some of Ireland’s best shopping. If you dare, you can also visit Blarney Castle, and climb up the steps to kiss the Blarney Stone. We travel north via County Tipperary and the town of Cashel, where we pause for a photo-op at the historic Rock of Cashel. We travel to Dublin, arriving at our 4-star hotel, Clayton’s Hotel Dublin Airport, in time for our Farewell Dinner, followed by a toast or two in the spacious hotel pub, which also has a Whiskey Room. July 25: After breakfast, you can take the frequent free shuttle to the airport for our flights home. It is suggested that you arrive 3 hours before flight times, but the shuttle allows you to choose your time, as some prefer to be earlier or a bit later. Arrive home the same day.
