Sept. 28: Depart to Dublin from Nashville (or any city you choose)
Sept. 29: Arrive Dublin and meet our luxury coach and guide. Take a panoramic tour of Ireland’s capital city with a visit to The Guinness Storehouse, then time to explore Grafton Street and Trinity College before checking into the grand, historic Gresham Hotel. Dinner at your leisure at your choice of many nearby restaurants.
Sept. 30: Depart for the short drive to Kildare where we visit Newbridge Silverware and its impressive Museum of Style Icons, featuring costumes of Hollywood’s legends. We’ll also stop at St. Brigid’s Cathedral, home of one of Ireland’s top three saints, with an ancient round tower outside. We do a photo stop at the Rock of Cashel, where the High Kings had their coronations centuries ago. Onward to Blarney Castle where you can climb the castle and kiss the famous Blarney Stone. There’s also the Blarney Woolen Mills, with Ireland’s best shopping. We arrive in lively Killarney where we stay for two nights at the Malton Hotel, a grand and historic hotel right in town. Dinner tonight is at the hotel. (B,D)
Oct. 1: Tour the Ring of Kerry, one of the world’s most scenic drives along a large peninsula with seascapes, mountains and charming towns, with a stop at the Bog Village for an optional Irish Whiskey and a look at how life used to be in rural Ireland. Evening at leisure in Killarney (B)
Oct. 2: We travel north and cross the Shannon River Estuary on the Tarbet Ferry before arriving at the Cliffs of Moher, towering 700 feet above the Atlantic. Then we explore the Burren, a limestone moonscape with terrain and wildflowers unique in the world. We will visit an Irish farm for a fun sheepdog demonstration and some fresh tea and scones. We arrive in Galway for some time to shop and explore and have a pint in the busy downtown before going the short distance to The Salthill Hotel, across from the Atlantic Ocean and a promenade for a lovely walk. Oct. 3: Depart Galway and cruise through the heart of Ireland and into Northern Ireland. We arrive in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Nashville’s Sister City, during their Irish Homecoming celebration. We will visit the incredible Titanic Experience in The Titanic Quarter, home of Titanic Studios, where many Game of Thrones scenes are filmed. We’ll take a city tour to see this vibrant city and also the Murals that depict The Troubles from both sides, as well as the Peace Wall. We’ll have dinner together, and then you’re free to explore Belfast this evening from our central home, Clayton’s Hotel Belfast. (B,D)
Oct. 4: We travel to the scenic Antrim Coast, including outdoor filming locations for Game of Thrones. Our first stop will be at the famous and historic Bushmills Distillery. It’s a short drive to the Giant’s Causeway, an amazing geological formation (thousands of hexagonal columns formed by volcanic activity) with an equally amazing tale of its creation. We return to Belfast and the evening is yours to enjoy. (B)
Oct. 5: We depart Belfast and tour Malahide Castle, then walk atop the Hill of Tara, home of the ancient high kings, We’ll also see the Boyne Valley, the site of the great battle. Arrival in Dublin is late afternoon and our Farewell Dinner is at the Radisson Blu Hotel by Dublin Airport. (B,D)
Oct. 6: Transfers from the hotel via free shuttle (or you may choose to make the short walk) to the airport this morning for flights home, arriving in the US later today. (B)
