September 2020 Haunted Ireland Itinerary

Day 1 Tuesday Sept. 15 Overnight flight to Ireland with dinner and light breakfast on board
Day 2 Wednesday Sept. 16 Arrive in Dublin, meet our driver/guide, then go for a panoramic tour of the city including a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, then Kilmainham Gaol, former prison and execution site of many leaders of the 1916 uprising against the crown. Then we’ll visit Glasnevin Cemetery. Hotel check-in at RIU Plaza The Gresham of Dublin – one of Dublin’s oldest 4 Star historical hotels, recently updated when acquired by RIU Resort and centrally located in the heart of Dublin on O’Connell St. with a TripAdvisor 4.3 rating. This is a free evening to enjoy the Temple Bar entertainment district with many pubs, shops and restaurants.
Day 3 Thursday Sept. 17 Depart Dublin and travel to Blarney with stops at St. Brigid’s Cathedral of Kildare, then a photo stop at the Rock of Cashel. Enter ancient Blarney Castle, climb to the top and kiss the Blarney Stone. Plenty of time to explore the lovely and mysterious gardens, waterfalls and trails on the grounds. Enjoy some of Ireland’s finest shopping at the Blarney Woolen Mills and explore the quaint town of Blarney. Move on to Killarney and check into Scott’s Hotel ~ 4 Star hotel with a 4.3 Google rating and 4.0 TripAdvisor score for two nights. (B)
Day 4 Friday Sept. 18 Take the Ring of Kerry excursion, one of the most scenic drives in the world with several stops. Upon returning the Killarney this afternoon, we can do a photo stop at Ross Castle on the Killarney Lake near town, and then the rest of the day and evening are at your leisure. Take a jaunting cart ride to historic Muckross House in Killarney National Park, or hike to Torc Falls, or just explore the town. (B)
Day 5 Saturday Sept. 19 Depart Killarney for Limerick, home of King John’s Castle and the late Frank McCourt, author of Angela’s Ashes. Tonight, we’ll experience the Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet with live music and costumed actors inside the actual castle and stay at the adjacent Bunratty Castle Hotel a 4 Star luxury hotel and spa. Day 6 Sunday Sept. 20 Depart our hotel and move to the Cliffs of Moher, 700 feet above the Atlantic. Then on to the Burren, a lunar landscape unique in the world, plus a stop at Poulnabrone Dolmen neolithic grave marker before going to our Galway Jury’s Inn ~ 4 Star hotel located on the water’s edge at Quay Street, this is the most coveted hotel location in Galway as it is the closest full-service hotel to the lively shopping and dining heart of Galway. Our highest rated hotel with a 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor and 4.3 Google score.Two nights. (B)
Day 7 Monday Sept. 21 We’ll have a private Galway Ghost Walking Tour with our scheduled guide, Brian Nolan. The you are free to explore this lively, musical town on Galway Bay. (B)
Day 8 Tuesday Sept. 22 Depart Galway and visit Rathburn Farm for tea and scones and a sheepdog demonstration. Next is Clonmacnoise, a well-preserved monastic settlement.on the banks of the River Shannon. On to Kilbeggan Distillery for a tour and tasting. We will see the historic Boyne Valley and the Hill of Tara. After a farewell dinner at our Dublin restaurant, we check-in at Holiday Inn Express Airport Hotel. This 3 star hotel was remodeled in 2019 and boasts a complementary airport shuttle running every 30 minutes and a 4 rating on both Tripadvisor and Google. (B,D)
Day 9 Wednesday Sept. 23 Return to USA or let us book an extension in Dublin, Scotland or England for you.
